祭概要

神寿歌（かみほぎうた）に合わせて、稲人（いなんど）たちが歌い踊る！約700年以上の歴史を誇る民俗芸能

鎌倉時代から続く鶴見神社の伝統行事です。明治初期に欧風化の波で廃絶しましたが、有志たちが調査研究を重ねて1987年、100年の空白を埋めて奇跡的に復活しました。16時からの杉山祭執行後、18時から古雅な歌詞と節回しの神寿歌（かみほぎうた）に合わせて稲人（いなんど）たちが春の田起こしから秋の収穫まで、米作りの一連の所作を演じます。早乙女や牛役男児たちの熱演に拍手喝采、豊年祝いの神馬や道化役のお鶴・亀蔵の登場、フィナーレの撒餅（まきもち）に続き、万灯神輿（まんどうみこし）の渡御で祭りは最高潮に達します！

背中に鞍をのせた牛役児童が、神寿歌に合わせて田を回り「モー　モー　モー」と祝って苗代掻きを終えます。


“Rice planters” sing and dance to divine song-A folk performing art originating some 700 years ago-

This is a traditional event of the Tsurumi Shrine stretching back to the Kamakura Period. It was abolished for a time with the spread of the Western culture in the early Meiji period. In 1987, a group of interested people, conducting extensive research, were able to miraculously revive the event after a period of 100 years. After the Sugiyama Festival, held at 4 pm, the dancers reenact every stage of rice-making from planting in the spring to the harvest in the fall, all accompanied by sacred song with quaint lyrics and melodies, starting at 6 pm. This colorful event features the comical female otome character, the cow characters played by children, as well as the sacred horse and the clown to pray for a bountiful harvest, the good-luck cranes and turtles, and finally rice cakes for everyone. The climax of this special festival comes with the portable shrines shining with multitudes of votive lights.

Children playing the role of the cow walk around the rice field with saddles on their backs, changing “moo,” “moo,” “moo” to the divine songs playing in the background as they finish “tilling” the soil.
