13台の華麗な祢里が、遠州に春を告げる！祢里の上で奏でられる祭囃子に感嘆

掛川市横須賀に鎮座する三熊野（みくまの）神社の大祭。神輿の渡御に合わせ、13台の祢里（ねり）が「シタッ！シタッ！」という掛け声とともに町中を威勢よく曳き回されます。約300年前の江戸天下祭が発祥とされる、一本柱万度型（いっぽんばしらまんどがた）の形態を持つ貴重な祢里。その上で奏でられるのが、静岡県指定無形文化財第1号の「三社祭礼囃子」です。横須賀城主が参勤交代の折に江戸から持ち帰った囃子を原型とし、この地ならではの調子が加えられています。

小太鼓・大太鼓・すり金・特一本調子の篠笛（しのぶえ）で奏でる「三社祭礼囃子」に合わせ、ひょっとこ・おかめが「手古舞（てこまい）」で祭りを盛り上げます。

This is a festival of Mikumano Shrine located in Kakegawa CityYokosuka. A procession of mikoshi (portable shrines) moves energetically through the town with 13 platforms of chanters yelling “Shita! Shita!”. The single-pillar, single-column shape, originating with the Edo Tenka Festival some 300 years ago, is used as platform for Sanja festival music Shizuoka Prefecture Intangible Cultural Property No.1. It originates with music brought from Edo by the Yokosuka lord during the period of alternate residence. It embodies the unique rhythms of this area.

Sanja festival music featuring large and small drums, metal percussion Surigane, and monotonic bamboo flute is accompanied by festival dances performed by dancers wearing comical male and female masks.
