夜を徹して三十三番を舞い続ける！狩猟の地に伝承されてきた独特な神楽

12月12日～16日に行われる銀鏡神社（しろみじんじゃ）例大祭で舞われる神楽。宮崎県内の神楽で最初に国の重要無形民俗文化財に指定されたことでも知られています。12日の朝から神楽の準備を始め、準備がほぼ終わった13日の夕方に式一番「星神楽」を披露。14日は式二番「清山」から始め、15日午後まで徹夜で三十三番を舞い続けます。17世紀に銀鏡神社社家の祖先が鵜戸山（うどさん）道場で修練した「鵜戸神楽」と「鵜戸鬼神」の舞を伝え、従来の神楽を発展させたものと言われます。

「山の神への畏敬の念」と「猪の鎮魂」を込めた狩法神事（かりほうしんじ）の一つ、式三十二番「ししとぎり」。神楽のなかに独特の狩猟作法と狩言葉が伝承されています。

A special kagura passed down on hunting grounds

This unique kagura is performed at the festival of Shiromi Shrine. held from December 12 to 16. It is the first kagura of Miyazaki Prefecture to be nationally designated Important Intangible Folk Cultural Asset. Preparations begin in the morning of the 12th. When those are nearly complete by the evening of the 13th, the first kagura, the Star Kagura, is performed.

On the 14th, the second dance called Kiyoyama begins, followed by a total of 33 dances performed all night and until the afternoon of the 15th. During the 17th century, the ancestors of the Shiromi Shrine first passed on the Udo Kagura and the Udo Kishin at Udo Jingu shrine. It is said that kagura developed from these original dances.

A sacred hunting ritual, the Shishitogiri (number 32) is based on reverence for the deities of the mountains and the idea of praying for the peace of the soul of the wild boar. The dance describes unique hunting methods and incorporates unique hunting phrases.
