約100頭もの鹿が太鼓を打って踊る！ダイナミックな「百鹿大群舞」は圧巻

奥州市江刺地区に伝わる郷土芸能を満喫できる、江刺夏まつり「みちのく盂蘭盆（うらぼん）まつり」。注目は、頭に鹿角や馬の黒毛をつけ、背に一対のササラを立てて踊る江刺鹿踊（ししおどり）「百鹿大群舞（ひゃくしかだいぐんぶ）」です。約100人の踊り手が流派を超えて一堂に会し、一斉に太鼓を打ち鳴らしながら、通りいっぱいに広がってダイナミックに踊る様に息を呑みます。また、郷土芸能の商店街巡演や初盆供養の灯籠流し、花火大会なども行われます。

江刺地区が誇る伝統芸能「江刺鹿踊」は、鹿角のついた頭をかぶり、前腰につけた太鼓を叩きながら踊るダイナミックな踊りです。

The dynamic shishi-odori dance ""Hyakushikadaigunbu"" is a highlight.

At Esashi, Oshu City, visitors can enjoy the Urabon Festival, a summer festival in Esashi featuring the “Hyakushikadaigunbu” shishi-odori dance. The dancers wear antlers and black horsehair on their heads, with a bamboo whisk attached in the back for effect. Around 100 dancers of different traditions come together and beat their drums in unison. This dynamic performance of so many dancers will simply take your breath away. In addition, local traditional performances are held in the street, and lanterns are displayed for the first Bon festival following the demise of a family member. Fireworks are also part of the festivities.

The dynamic Esashi Shishi-odori Deer Dance, a traditional performance art of the Esashi region, features dancers wearing sets of deer horns on their heads and dancing to the beat of the drums attached to their waists.
