巨大な万燈「たてもん」が迫力の大回転！夏の夜を幻想的に彩る、豊漁祈願の祭り

高さ約16mもの大柱に90余りの提灯を三角形につるし下げた、船型の山車「たてもん」を曳きまわす魚津市の夏の風物詩。8月5日・6日の夜、大漁と海上の安全を祈る諏訪神社氏子の町内から7基のたてもんが繰り出されます。何百という提灯のあかりが夜空を彩り、若者の掛け声や囃子が海上に響きわたる様は勇壮で華麗。特に、人力だけでくるくる回す「回転奉納」は迫力満点です。近隣で開催予定の海上花火大会との美しい共演も楽しめます。

たてもんの総重量はなんと約5t。魚津海岸沿いから諏訪神社境内へと、約80人の若者がはっぴ姿で威勢よく曳きまわします。

A festival that gives the summer night a surreal glow, held in prayers for bountiful fishing.

A summer tradition of Uozu City, where over ninety lanterns are decorated in a triangular form on roughly sixteen-meter-tall grand posts, being pulled around on boat-shaped Tatemon floats. On the nights of August 5 and 6, seven of these Tatemon floats are taken out from the towns of Suwa Shrine parishioners, who pray for large catches of fish and safety out at sea. The hundreds of lanterns lightening up the sky and the shouts of young people accompanied by festive music roaring over the water are both gallant and graceful. The “spin offering”, where they are spun around only by human power, is particularly spectacular. A beautiful collaboration with the sea fireworks festival scheduled to be held in the area can also be enjoyed.
The total weight of these Tatemon floats is an astounding five tons. Roughly eighty young people in Happi coats pull them along Uozu Port to the grounds of Suwa Shrine in high spirits.
