松明を掲げ、武者が桜並木を練り歩く！幽玄な歴史絵巻を再現した春の火祭り

武者に扮した総勢約200人が松明を片手に桜並木を練り歩く、長崎県最大の火祭り。雲仙市千々石町に桜が咲き誇る、3月の最終土曜日に開催されます。日没後、鉄砲隊の演武を合図に福石公園を出発。郷土繁栄を願う「いやさか」という勝どきを上げながら、暗闇の中を炎の行列が進み、夜桜の美しい橘公園へと至ります。400年以上前の史実を再現した幽玄な歴史絵巻が、春の夜を舞台に壮大に繰り広げられます。事前に申し込めば武者として行列に参加できます。

武者行列のフィナーレは、桜の名所として有名な橘公園。桜並木や甲冑武者を松明が照らし出す美景は、SNS映えすると好評です。

A fiery festival that recreates a mystical historic picture scroll.

Nagasaki Prefecture’s greatest fire festival, where roughly 200 people dressed as warriors proceed along a row of cherry trees with torches in their hands. Held on the last Saturday of March in Chijiwa Town, Unzen City when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. They head out of Fukuishi Park after sunset at the signal of the demonstration by the gun troops. The fiery procession then heads towards Tachibana Park in the darkness, where the nightly cherry blossoms are beautiful, while exclaiming the “Iyasaka” shout of victory in prayers for the prosperity of their hometown. The finale of the procession of warriors is held at Tachibana Park, which is a famous spot for viewing cherry blossoms. The row of cherry blossoms and armored warriors illuminated by the torches are popular sights on social media.
