全国から寄贈されたひな人形がずらり！遠見岬神社など、街中がひな祭り一色に

勝浦市に春を呼ぶイベントの一つ「かつうらビッグひな祭り」。遠見岬神社の石段や覚翁寺の特設雛壇などに飾られたひな人形たちが、訪れた人々を出迎えます。全国勝浦ネットワークの縁により、徳島県勝浦町から約7,000体のひな人形を里子として譲り受けて2001年から開催。遠見岬神社の石段に飾られる1,800体のひな人形は、朝に飾り付けをし、夜には全てをしまい込むという作業を毎日行っています。商店街の各店舗にも工夫を凝らしたひな人形が飾られます。

遠見岬神社は祭りを象徴する特別な場所。空にも届きそうな60段の石段が、約1,800体ものひな人形で朱色と金色に染め上げられる様子は圧巻です。

Festivals full of hina dolls are held at various locations throughout the town, including Tomisaki Shrine.

The Katsuura Big Hina Matsuri is one of the events of Katsuura City that welcomes spring. Hina dolls placed in various locations, such as on the stone steps of Tomisaki Shrine and on the special steps for hina dolls at Kakuo Temple, greet all visitors. It began in 2001, when roughly 7,000 hina dolls from Katsuura Town in Tokushima Prefecture were adopted through the nationwide Katsuura network. The 1,800 hina dolls that decorate the stone steps of Tomisaki Shrine are placed there in the morning, put away at night, and placed back again the next day. There are also hina dolls that have been modified by establishments at shopping streets on display.
Tomisaki Shrine is a special place that serves as an icon of festivals. The sight of the 60 stone steps that reach out to the skies, colored with the bright red and gold of the dolls, is magnificent.
