豪華絢爛な祭屋台が秋の飛騨高山を彩る！ 飛騨匠の技と粋を今に伝える美祭

日本三大美祭の一つである高山祭。春と秋の2回あり、秋は櫻山八幡宮の例大祭「八幡祭」を指します。特筆すべきは、国指定の重要有形民俗文化財である11台の祭屋台。彫刻や織物、屋根昇降の仕掛けなど、18〜19世紀の飛騨の匠たちの高度な技術が随所に生きています。表参道に集結する「屋台曳き揃え」、秋にしか見られない「屋台曳き廻し」が行われるほか、境内では「からくり奉納」を1日2回実施。からくり人形の巧みな動きに魅了されます。

9日夜には、曳き別れ歌を奏でながら屋台が蔵へと帰る「宵祭」が行われます。提灯の明かりともの悲しい調べが幻想的です。

The Takayama Festival is one of the three most beautiful festivals of Japan. It is held twice a year in spring and autumn. In autumn, it refers to the Hachiman Grand Festival held at Sakurayama Hachiman Shrine. What is particularly noteworthy is the 11 festival floats that are nationally designated Important Tangible Folk Cultural Assets. The sophisticated skills of the carpenters of Hida between the 18th and 19th centuries can be seen through carvings, woven fabrics, and how roofs are hoisted. In addition to the floats being dragged to the front approach and the floats being dragged around, which can only be seen in autumn, on the grounds are also offerings being performed by mechanical puppets twice a day. Be amazed at the masterful movements of the mechanical puppets.

Farewell songs are sung as the floats are returned to their storehouses on the night of the 9th. The glow of the lanterns and the sad tunes create a surreal atmosphere.
