日本一重い山車「でか山」を曳き廻す！能登地区に春を呼ぶ、大迫力の曳山行事

神饌（しんせん）を青柏（あおがしわ）の葉に盛って備える儀式がその名の由来となった、大地主神社（おおとこぬしじんじゃ）の春の例大祭です。注目は、山町（やまちょう）と呼ばれる3つの町から1台ずつ奉納される山車「でか山」。その大きさは高さ約12m・重さ約20tにも及び、山車としては日本一の重量を誇ります。狭い路地を建物すれすれに曳き廻される様子は迫力満点。特に大きな梃子（てこ）を使った方向転換「辻廻し」は必見です。大地主神社や能登食祭市場前などに、3台のでか山が勢揃い※する様子も壮観です。

各町が豪華さを競う「でか山」。その上段にある舞台では、身の丈2m余りの人形が飾られ、歌舞伎の名場面が再現されています。

An exciting float festival that beckons spring to the Noto district.

A spring festival at Otokonushi Shrine, named after a ceremony where Shinsen (offerings) are presented on Aogashiwa (young oak leaves). One of the features is the huge “Deka-yama” floats, each dedicated by three towns known as “Yamacho”. They are roughly 12 meters in height and 20 tons in weight, and can boast of being the heaviest floats in Japan. Their being pulled alongside structures through narrow streets provides a magnificent sight. The event where they are turned around using huge levers is a must-see. The three Deka-yama floats all gathered in one spot* in front of places such as Otokonushi Shrine and Noto Food Festival Market is also spectacular.

Deka-yama” floats, which the towns each try to outdo each other with in extravagance. Hung on the stage above are roughly 2-meter-tall dolls recreating famous Kabuki scenes.
