諸国を巡り獅子舞を舞う大神楽師たちが年に一度、一堂に会して神楽を奉納！

伊勢神宮に参拝できない人々のため、日本各地を旅しながら獅子舞を舞い、かつては伊勢神宮、現在では伊勢大神楽講社の神札を頒布してまわる「伊勢大神楽」。現代の厳かなお伊勢参りとは異なる、娯楽と信仰に満ちた江戸時代のお伊勢参りの姿を今に伝えています。現存する5つの家元は、元旦からそれぞれの檀那場へ赴き、一年をかけて諸国を巡ります。そして12月になると増田神社に戻り、一年で最後の神楽奉納として獅子神楽・放下芸を披露します。

約450年にわたり伝承される16演目を奉納。最後を締めくくるのは、振袖姿の獅子が伊勢音頭に合わせて花魁道中を行う「魁曲」。

Grand Kagura performers who do lion dances in various regions gather once a year as a sacred offering! Ise Dai Kagura travels across Japan to perform lion dances for people who cannot visit Ise Shrine. In the past, they distributed Ise Shrine talismans but they now distribute talismans of the Ise Daikagura Kosha association. They show what it was like to visit the Ise Shrine, full of recreation and faith during the Edo period, as opposed to the visits today, which are more solemn. The five existing masters start visiting their respective parishes in the morning of New Year’s Day and visit various regions throughout the year. They then return to Masuda Shrine when December comes again and give lion Kagura and equanimity performances as their last Kagura offerings of the year. An offering of 16 pieces that have been passed down for roughly 450 years. The finale is the Rangyoku dance performance in the Oiran Parade, with lions in long-sleeved kimonos dancing to Ise dance music.
