宵と朝で趣が変わる日本三大川祭り！　船が奏楽しながら漕ぎ渡る風景に感嘆

日本三大川祭りに数えられる、約600年の歴史を誇る津島神社の祭礼。幻想的な「宵祭」と華麗な「朝祭」が行われます。7月25日「宵祭」では、18時30分頃から5艘の巻藁船の提灯に点灯。20時15分頃に車河戸から漕ぎ出し、津島笛を奏しながら御旅所に向かいます。巻藁船の灯りが川面に映える様子は幻想的です。7月26日「朝祭」では、夜とは飾り付けを変えた華やかな6艘が置物（能人形）を飾り、奏楽しながら漕ぎ渡ります。
A festival at Tsushima Shrine boasting a history of about 600 years and counted as one of the Three Great Riverside Festivals of Japan. Held here are the Surreal Evening Festival and the Extravagant Morning Festival. The lanterns of five makiwara boats are lit at around 6:30 p.m. during the evening festival on July 25. The boats are then rowed out of the yard at around 8:15 p.m. and directed toward the resting point as Tsushima flutes are played. The sight of the lit up makiwara boats reflecting off the surface of the river is surreal. The six extravagant boats are redecorated with noh dolls during the morning festival on July 26, before being rowed away to the sound of musical performances.

「宵祭」では、約500個の提灯を飾ります。中央の真柱に1年の月数、その下に半円・山型に１年の日数を表す提灯を飾ります。
The evening festival is decorated with roughly 500 lanterns. The central pillar has lanterns for each month of the year and the dome at the bottom has lanterns for each day of the year.
