A big event filled with the style of the Hakata townspeople


国選択無形民俗文化財「博多松ばやし」を起源とし、洒落っ気の多い博多町人が発展させた祭り。2日間で約200万人もの見物客が集います。5月3日13時～と4日15時～は「どんたく広場パレード」を開催。のべ776団体・3万5千人以上のどんたく隊が、思い思いの仮装でシャモジを叩きながら町を練り歩き、各所にある舞台・広場でも踊りを披露します。4日の18時50分～は、祭りのフィナーレを飾る「総おどり」が催され、見物客も飛び入り参加可能です。

5月3日・4日の9時から行われる「博多松ばやし」は、三福神（福神・恵比寿・大黒）と稚児の4流れが市内一円を巡ります。

A festival with its origins in the nationally-selected Intangible Folk Cultural Property called "Hakata Matsubayashi Festival", developed by stylish Hakata townspeople. It attracts about 2 million spectators over a period of two days. The Dontaku Square Parade is held in May from 1 p.m. on the 3rd and from 3 p.m. on the 4th. Over 35,000 participants from 776 groups in distinct costumes march through the town as they beat their rice paddles and perform dances at various stages and spaces. Spectators are also welcome to participate in the grand dance event, which is the finale of the festivities held from 6:50 p.m. on the 4th.

On May 3rd and 4th from 9 a.m. is the Hakata Matsubayashi parade, where gods of fortune (Fukurokuju, Ebisu, and Daikoku) circle the town accompanied by four groups of small children.
