勇壮な舞で魅了する、伝統の庄内神楽！12の神楽座などが集い、神々の舞を披露

由布市庄内町に脈々と受け継がれる、神々の物語を舞う伝統芸能「庄内神楽」。12の神楽座が稽古や公演を行いながら、伝統の舞を後世に継承しています。年に1度、町内の神楽座や子どもの神楽団体などが一堂に会し、庄内神楽を披露するのが「庄内神楽祭り」。スサノオノミコトがヤマタノオロチを退治する「大蛇退治」をはじめ、勇壮でユーモラスな舞の数々を存分に楽しめます。同時開催の庄内町ふるさと祭りも、多くの出店や観光客で賑わいます。

地元の保育園児・高校生などの神楽団体も舞を披露。県外からも神楽団体を招聘するので、他地域の神楽も楽しめます。

Shonai Kagura is a traditional performing art with dancing to the stories of gods passed down over generations in the village of Shonai in Yufu City. Twelve Kagura dance troupes pass down traditional dances to future generations as they rehearse and give performances. The Shonai Kagura Festival is where Kagura dance troupes and children’s Kagura groups of the village all meet once a year to give Shonai Kagura performances. Enjoy various majestic and humorous dances such as the Orochi Taiji, where the Shinto god of Susanoo-no-Mikoto defeats the Yamata-no-Orochi dragon. The Shonai-cho Furusato Festival, which is held at the same time, is also crowded with shops and tourists.

Local preschool and high school Kagura groups also give performances. Kagura troupes from other prefectures are also invited to give their Kagura performances for you to enjoy.
