漁師たちが130余年にわたり伝承！下北半島に春を呼ぶ漁村歌舞伎

下北半島沿岸部にある漁村、佐井村福浦地区。1890年頃にこの地を訪れた上方歌舞伎役者の中村菊五郎・菊松夫妻が伝授して以来、娯楽や文化に乏しかった漁師たちの間で親しまれ、130年以上も伝承されてきたのが「福浦の歌舞伎」です。一つの役を家ごとに担う世襲制で受け継がれてきました。「歌舞伎の館」で行われる福浦稲荷神社例祭の特別公演では、住民たちが見守る温かな雰囲気のなか、素朴ながらも力強く熱気ある舞台が繰り広げられます。

「義経千本桜」「太閤記」など年ごとに異なる演目が行われます。セリフが方言になっているなど、この地ならではの趣があります。

Kabuki performances of a fishing village welcoming spring in the Shimokita Peninsula.

The Fukuura District in Sai Village is a fishing town located on the coast of the Shimokita Peninsula. Ever since Kamigata Kabuki actor Kikugoro Nakamura and his wife Kikumatsu visited this area in around 1890 and taught “Fukuura Kabuki”, it has been popular among fishermen who had minimal exposure to entertainment and culture, and passed down for over 130 years. It has been handed down through a hereditary system where one role per household is played. At the special presentation of the Fukuura Inari Shrine Festival held at the House of Kabuki, rustic but nonetheless powerful and exciting performances are given in a warm atmosphere, watched over by the local residents.
Different acts such as “Yoshitsune and the Thousand Cherry Trees” and “Records of the Taiko” are performed each year. Experience the distinct flavors of this area by, among other ways, listening to the local dialect of the lines spoken.
