高さ約6.5mもの武者人形山車が巡行！港町の英華を今に伝える北陸三大祭の一つ

千年以上もの歴史を誇る港町・三国に、例年10数万人が集まりにぎわう三國神社の例大祭。5月20日の中日祭では、毎年作り替える巨大な武者人形を載せた山車（やま）が登場します。12時に神輿2基や山車6基などが三國神社前に集結した後、街中に繰り出します。子供たちによる祭囃子にのせて、立ち並ぶ露店の屋根を跳ね上げ、多くの見物客をかき分けながら巡行。「面舵」「取舵」の掛け声で方向転換をする様子も、港町情緒たっぷりです。
山車神輿巡行は夕方に三国駅前に到着し、パフォーマンスを披露。18時以降は高張提灯を灯し、各々の区に帰っていく山車も見られます。

This is a major festival held at Mikuni Shrine, drawing more than 10,000 people to Mikuni, a port town boasting a history of 1,000+ years. On the middle day of the festival, May 20th, the massive samurai doll floats, which are re-made every year, come out. At noon, two mikoshi portable shrines and six floats parade through the town after gathering in front of Mikuni Shrine. Children play festival music as the parade winds through, pushing aside visitors and outdoor stands. This festival recreates the nostalgic atmosphere of the old port town, as visitors are captivated by the special chant-like calls made by those steering the parade as they change direction moving through the streets.
The parade of mikoshi portable shrines and floats arrives at Mikuni Station at dusk, when a performance is given. As of 6 pm, paper lamps are lit so that visitors can watch the floats return to their places.
