華麗で巨大な獅子・兜・鯛などを「エンヤ」の掛け声で曳き回す！
Watch a huge and magnificent lion, samurai helmets, and a sea bream being pulled around to the shouts of “Enya”!

「赤獅子」「亀と浦島太郎」「源義経の兜」「鯛」「飛龍」など個性豊かな曳山が各町から集い、荘厳華麗に旧城下町を巡行する唐津神社の秋季例大祭。最大の見どころは、11月3日にお旅所（西の浜明神台）で行われる「曳き込み」です。神輿に従い町々を巡ってきた14基の曳山が、囃子方の奏でる典雅なリズムや威勢のよい掛け声に合わせて豪快に整列していきます。最終日の11月4日に、最後の力を振り絞って曳山を曳き回す「町廻り」も迫力満点です。
11月2日の19時半から行われる「宵山」では、提灯の灯る幻想的な雰囲気のなか、各町の曳山が唐津神社前に勢揃いします。

This is an autumn festival at Karatsu Shrine where unique Hikiyama floats depicting a red lion, Urashima Taro and the Turtle, Minamoto Yoshitsune's helmet, a sea bream, a flying dragon, and more gather from surrounding towns and gloriously parade down the streets of this former castle town. The highlight is the “Hikikomi” pulling, which takes place at the temporary Otabisho shrine (Nishinohama Myojindai) on November 3. See the spectacle of the 14 Hikiyama floats that have paraded through the towns with portable shrines coming one after another along with the elegant rhythms produced by the musicians and the high-spirited shouts. The Machi-meguri event, where all the remaining strength is put into pulling the Hikiyama floats around on the final day of November 4, is very exciting.
The Hikiyama floats from the other towns all gather at Karatsu Shrine in a surreal atmosphere lit by lanterns at the Yoiyama, which is held at 7:30 p.m. on November 2.
